Brian by Bacchus Jazz Bass, made in Korea late 90s, teal finish. Surely in all of guitar history, no brand name as ever been as simultaneously daggy and awesome as 'Brian'. Bacchus guitars enjoy a famed reputation for exceptional craftsmanship, attention to detail and wood selection in Japan, so much so that they really haven't bothered marketing their excellent offerings internationally. Brian was Bacchus' first shot at manufacturing outside of Japan, and were made very briefly in the late 90s in Korea. This particular example has a brilliant neck: slim at the nut, modern style fairly flat board, smooth satin finish, straight as an arrow and solid as a rock. It feels very much like a professional quality bass in the hands, it's lively and sensitive and definitely has mojo. The tone is bright, articulate and spanky with a controlled and rounded bottom end; very tasty indeed. The finish is a deep oceanic teal, one of those colours that was everywhere in the late 90s and scarcely seen nowdays. The aged pearl guard and maple board look great against the dark teal body, it's a classy look. You probably didn't realise it until right now, but you've always dreamed of owning a classy Jazz Bass with 'Brian' in giant gold letters on the headstock; it's a deep yearning from within your soul... you're welcome.

Model: Brian by Bacchus JB-style
Made: Korea, late 1990s (no serial on these)

Cosmetic condition notes: mild finish wear. There's a couple of minor marks on the end and bottom edge of the headstock. The neck is pretty clean and very smooth with minor dimples only. The back has a couple of little dents on the edge of the body carve, as well as some widespread minor scuffs. The sides are pretty clean, just some marks on the shoulder area, near the rear strap pin and around from the jack. The front is also pretty tidy, just some light scuffs from play around the bridge pickup, minor marks near the bridge and some light play wear on the guard. Overall: very good condition (8/10)

Playing condition notes: action is low, neck is straight, intonation is good, truss rod works. All electrics tested and working properly. Frets have some minor wear but are looking great, 8/10 for life left. Set up with fresh 45/105s.
