Burns Club Series Marquee, made in Korea 2006, Shadows white. Burns of London launched in 1959 and was a massive deal in England and Europe throughout the sixities and onwards, finding favour with a bunch of iconic British Invasion bands. This one is a Club Series reissue made in Korea in the mid 00s, which are generally well regarded for build quality and fidelity to the originals. The Marquee is similar to a Strat, but with some quirky stylisitc touches and a more brash, agressive tone. There's heaps of attack and a crisp, snappy treble, sitting somewhere between a typical Strat-tone and the brighter, more angular voice of a Jazzmaster. It'd be a great guitar if you're in the habit of drowning your tone in gain stages and ambient effects; that ping and clarity keeps your notes on top of the mix. The neck is straight, stable and a comfy slim sixties style C shape, it sits in the hand nicely. Perfect for shoegaze adventures!
