Burny RLC-105S 'Pata' Model Black 1995
Burny RLC-105S Pata signature model, made in Japan 1995, black. This is a signature model for Pata, rhythm guitarist for visual kei pinoneers X-Japan, one of Japan's most successful and influnential bands of all time. It's been quite modified. First, the original Fernandes Sustainer active pickup system is gone, replaced with a pair of EMG-style active humbuckers by Fernandes, controlled by a standard pair of volume controls and a master tone, as well as a new pair of kill switches. The frets have been replaced my prominent Victorian luthier Mick Harron, so it's wearing a fresh set of juicy jumbos, as well as being blessed with a new bone nut and a new bridge and tailpiece. It plays very, very well: smooth, fast, even, responsive... bloody terrific, frankly. The tone is suitably huge too: the neck pickup has a thick, swampy low end and girthy midrange, while the bridge pickup explodes with harmonics and sizzling detail. From across the room it looks like a vintage style LP Custom, but in the hands: it's a beast. Highly, dangerously fun.
