Burny RLC-45, black, made in Taiwan circa 2002. Burny is a brand under the umbrella of Japan guitar giants Fernandes, typically offering G-style options made to aa great standard and sold predominantly to the local Japan market. This LP Custom style slicker was made around 2002 out of Taiwan. While the earlier MIJ examples are more desirable and fetch more cash, this is typical of T-made Burny stuff and is a very well made guitar. It's comfy in the hands: slim, quick neck, reasonably light at a nudge under 4kg, good hardware, excellent fretwork... it feels great. A previous owner installed the ever-reliable Duncan JB humbucker in the bridge position, so that delivers a crunchy, warm, fat tone with plenty of breath in the high end. The neck pickup is darker and more rounded, nice for bluesy stuff or gloomy jazz cleans. The faded gold hardware, seven-ply binding and fun inlays on the headstock and board make the classic curves pop nicely under the black finish, it's a cool look. Heaps of guitar for the cash, and a very worthy take on the classic genre.
