Burny Super Grade RLG-60, cherry burst, made in Japan circa 1990. Burny is a brand under the Fernandes guitar empire umbrella, offering mostly Gibson-style models to the Japan market since the 1970s. This one dates to around 1990, which was a great era for the brand: they were making very hot stuff. It's an LP Standard style offering, with a gorgeous plain maple top with a generous smattering of birdseye grain dotted all over the top. It's a classy build: great woodwork, fret nibs, super dark rosewood board... it looks and feels like a guitar made with love and care. The neck is a slim-60s style shape, not tiny but fairly slim, and easy to get along with. The pickups have been replaced at some point and don't have much in the way of identifying marks, but they sound great. The neck is clear and open with a piano-like low end, the bridge is creamy and crunchy with plenty of bite and bark. There's a mark on the back of the neck that appears to be 'skin deep' only; I don't think this has had a major headstock repair, but I can't 100% guarantee that; have a look at the photos. What I can say is this: it's a fantastic guitar, Super indeed!

There's a mark about 4cm long on the back of the headstock that might possibly be a repaired crack, but I think is just an unfortunately placed crack in the clear topcoat. The back has widespread scuffs around the whole body, as well as some dimples near the switch cavity, elbow area and back edge and some surface scratches on the bottom horn and elbow area. The sides have dents and scuffs on the top horn and elbow area and scuffs and dimples near the jack and on the bottom horn. The front has some dimples in the elbow area, behind the tailpiece and near the knobs, as well as play wear on the horns. No guard included.
Overall: good condition (6.5/10)
Playing condition notes: action is low, neck is straight, intonation is good, truss rod works. All electronics tested and working properly. Wearing fresh 10/52 strings.
