Charvel CDS-038, magenta burst, made in Japan 1991. Charvel and Jackson were one beast in the nineties, and they were making all sorts of excellent shred machines out of the well regarded Chushin Gakki factory in Japan. This model was a limited release for the Japan market, so they don't seem to appear in the catalogs of the time. It's a variant on the standard Dinky, and dressed up in purple and gold... it's quite the aesthetic. The purple has yellowed and mellowed to a colour that's kinda hard to describe, but it looks dope anyhow. The tone is crisp and defined, with clean and sharp attack and a nice even body to it. That means it stays even and clear even with a mountain of gain. The neck is finished in satin, slim and quick in shape, so you can easily move all the way up to the 24th tall fret at lightning speed. This one is definitely going to divide some opinions, but hey: life's too short to please everyone, right?
