Charvel 3A, black, made in Japan 1983. This is a great little shredstick. Charvel was owned by Grover Jackson in the eighties and made at the Chusin Gakki in Japan. This one has been brought 'back from the brink' by the previous owner who picked it up from a pawn shop, so it's in great playing order. The trem has been setup as a hardtail, plus it's got some new electronics, including a swish set of Dimarzio Steve Morse pickups. It sounds fantastic: heaps of body and low end fatness, paired with a singing midrange and a nice understated sweetness on top. The neck is pretty slim: it's fairly flat on the back and definitely shred-skinny, but it's straight, stable and playing great. There's a lot to enjoy here, it's a mighty contender for a skinny dime.

Cosmetic condition notes: minor finish wear. The headstock has some dimples on the end and bottom edge and some scuffs on the top edge and front, nothing nasty. The neck has some dimples and rub wear on the back, it's clean and smooth in the hands. The back has widespread light scuffs and surface scratches around the whole body, most notably on the bottom edge and elbow area. The sides have some scuffs on the top horn and near the jack, as well as some dimples in the elbow area and an extra hole near the rear strap pin. The front has widespread minor scuffs and surface scratches around the whole body, most notably behind the bridge, as well some play wear on the guard and horns. Overall: good condition (7/10).

Playing condition notes: Neck is straight, action is low, intonation is good, truss rod works. All electronics tested and working properly. The frets have minor wear but are pretty even with no major buzz issues, 7/10 for life left. Setup with fresh 10/46 strings.
