Columbus LP-Style Black 1975

Colombus single cut, made in Japan around 1975, black. Colombus guitars popped up in the mid 1970s out of Japan, and were sold into a couple of different markets including UK/Europe before being lost to the sands of time. This one started life as a pretty era-typical take on the Japan LP: bolt on, flat top, basic appointments but reasonable execution. It's been modded by a previous owner, ditching the humbuckers in favour of a set of vintage square looking single coils of the sort you might find in a Teisco or Sakai guitar. It sounds pretty good: snappy and punchy with plenty of clarity and bark. The tuners were also replaced, which is a mercy. Heaps of guitar for not much cash, and it's basically punk as hell.
