Cool Z ZLS-2/FM Vintage Violin 2010
Cool Z ZLS-2/FM, Vintage Violin finish, made in Japan 2010. What a stunner! Cool Z guitars were made at the iconic Fujigen Gakki factory for major Japanese music retailers Shimamura Gakki, who have a few stores around the country. This model references the LP Standard, although it's got a few modern conveniences added for extra fun. You get a nice smooth neck join, sturdy Gotoh hardware and a little bit of weight relief, as well as the extremely tidy build and finish quality typical of Fujigen-made stuff; it feels fantastic in the hands. The pickups are good too: clear and fat on the neck., creamy and growly on the bridge, with a pleasing balance of detail and depth to the sound. The flame maple top really is gorgeous: that's a wildly detailed piece, and the smooth amber finish really lets the timber do the talking. Score yourself an absolute banger for way less than the new Epiphone equivalent fetches, then pat yourself on the back for being so clever. Nice one, you.

Cosmetic condition notes: minor finish wear. The headstock has minor chips on the end, some dents on the treble edge and some scuffs on the back. The neck is clean and smooth in the hands, minor dimples and scuffs on the back. The back has some dents in the middle of the body, scuffs near the neck join and elbow area and a chip and some dimples on the bottom edge near the cavity. The sides have minor dimples around the whole body and some dents in the elbow area and near the jack. The front has dimples around the tailpiece and knobs, scuffs in the elbow area and play wear on the guard and horns.
Overall: very good condition (7.5/10)
Playing condition notes: action is low, neck is straight, intonation is good, truss rod works. All electronics tested and working properly. Wearing fresh 10/52 Moonshiners strings.
Fret Life: 8/10, minor wear only
