Cool Z ZPB-M1R, sonic blue, made in Japan 2012. Cute as heck. Cool Z is a house brand for major Japanese instrument chain Shimamura, who have stores all over Japan. They're made at the famed Fujigen Gakki plant, the very same factory that made all those famous Fender Japan guitars from 1982-96 as well as producing Ibanez Prestige and other high end instruments to this day. This guy is P-flavoured, but with a 7/8ths body and a medium 32" scale neck. They're small changes, but heck, it translates to an effortless feel, with easy movement around the neck and a lightweight gig-friendly body. The tone is very convincing too: fat and round with heaps of juicy lows, punctuated by an immediate tuneful midrange. The sonic blue finish is summery as homemade lemonade too, it's supremely chill. Coolzies.
