Danelectro DC-3 Silver Sparkle 1998
Danelectro DC-3, silver sparkle, made in Korea 1998. This is such a cool guitar. The DC-3 is a twist on the iconic '59 model, but with a double cutaway body, three lipstick pickups and some nice electronics. The rotary switch offers six positions: the standard five you get on any Strat, plus a handy neck+bridge combo on position one. There's a master stacked volume/tone knob plus a toggle switch that engages all three pickups in series, offering a boosted output and a thick, tasty tone. As Dano-fans know, these Korean reissues are brilliant sounding guitars. All of the switch positions sound great in their own right. The clean tones are a nice mix of jangle and definition, and with some crunch added, this has a brilliant creamy chime that's very satisfying indeed. It's very easy to play; the lightweight body and moderate round neck are intuitive and friendly in the hands. The real trump card here is the immaculate styling: this really does look exceptionally awesome, especially in the flesh. It's made for the stage, just like you, right?

Cosmetic condition notes: minor finish wear. The headstock has dimples on the end and edges. The neck is clean and smooth in the hands, minor dimples and rub wear on the back only. The back has no major marks, it's hard to see flaws in this finish The sides have minor scuffs around the whole body. The front has scuffs and dimples on the guard and some play wear around the bridge and horns.
Overall: excellent condition (9/10)
Playing condition notes: action is low, neck is straight, intonation is good, truss rod works. All electronics tested and working properly. Wearing fresh 10/46 Moonshiners strings.
Fret life: 8/10, minor wear only
