Duesenberg Starplayer III Lavender 2013
Duesenberg Starplayer III, lavender gloss, made in Germany 2013. Well friends, here's one you don't see everyday! The Starplayer III is the 'back to our roots' take on the now-cult-famous Starplayer TV; it's the same but with a flat spruce top and a rosewood veneer on the headstock. This one has been refinished at some point, possibly even by the factory. It's an absolutely stellar job; the new lavender top is done in stunning thin gloss nitro and is millimetre perfect for consistency and precision. It's certainly quite something to behold! Being a Duesenberg, the tone and feel departments absolutely match the outrageous glamour of the aesthetic too. The neck is a slim and comfortable round profile, made with German precision and very reassuring in the hands. The P90/HB pickup combo works a treat: heaps of warmth and body off the neck pickup, heaps of crunch and richness off the bridge pickup. The trem is great piece of kit: heaps of range and awesome stability, plus it's much easier to re-string than a Bigsby. This is surely a perfect stage guitar; it'll turn heads every night while delivering the sonic goods emphatically.
