Edwards E-LP-98SD, cherry sunburst, made in Japan 2011. Edwards is the vintage style brand under the ESP Guitars umbrella, so they mostly trade in Fender and Gibson inspired offerings and are sold mostly to the domestic Japan market. This one is a take on the Les Paul Standard. It's blessed with a highly figured flame maple top, which pops beautifully under the bright red cherry sunburst finish. The aged plastics and zebra pickups round out the look nicely, it's certainly a good looker. Tone-wise, there's a lot to love. The stock Seymour Duncan pickups are awesome: the neck is thick and full with heaps of beef in the low end, but there's a nice clarity on the top end too. The bridge pickup is creamy and rich, offering a responsive lead tone and a very full, singing rhythm sound. The neck is moderate and comfy, it's an easy player that'll keep you coming back. I recently heard Edwards described as 'the most underrated guitar brand out of Japan', and you know what? That might be right.

The back has a little chip on the back edge near the rear strap pin, as well as some dimples near the cavity and in the middle of the body. The sides have a few dimples and scuffs in the elbow area and near the jack, nothing nasty. The front has a few dimples along the back edge and behind the bridge, a little dent between the pickups and some standard play wear on the guard and horns. Overall: very good condition (8/10).

Playing condition notes: Neck is straight, action is low, intonation is good, truss rod works. All electrics tested and working properly. The frets have minor wear only, 9/10 for fret life left. Wearing fresh 10/52 Moonshiners strings.
