Edwards E-LP-98LTC, black, made in Japan 2010. Edwards is the vintage style brand under the ESP Guitars umbrella, so they mostly make Fender and Gibson inspired offerings and are sold exclusively within Japan. This is an LP-Custom style offering, so you get the fun seven ply binding, ebony board, block inlays and gold hardware. The previous owner switched the gold covered pickups for a zebra set of the same models, which adds a little bit of punk swagger to the classy look. The neck is straight and stable and a comfy slim 60s shape; it feels great in the hands. The tone on offer is thick and round, with a crunchy juicy midrange and plenty of zest on the top end. It has that singing sustain that translates so well for up-the-neck leads, as well as the girthy punch to do chunky rhythm stuff with conviction. There's a lot to love here, it's a esp-ecially tasty take on a classic genre... har.
