Epiphone 1962 50th Anniversary Sheraton Vintage Sunburst 2011
Epiphone 50th Anniversary Sheraton, made in China 2011. This is a nice thing. The 1962 series is a top-of-the-line offering and features a bunch of updated takes on some original Epiphone models, as opposed to budget versions on Gibson models. As such, this is nicely appointed: deluxe Grover kidney tuners, Gibson USA mini-humbuckers, 'Frequensator' vintage-correct tailpiece and some nice cosmetic touches like 7-layer binding and a vine inlay on the headstock. It all works together nicely: there's a feeling of class in the hands a aura of luxury to the eyes. The slim 60s neck is a treat; it's easier to get around than a regular 335. The mini-HBs produce a sweet, crispy clarity that offers chiming, eloquent cleans and enough output to produce a creamy breakup enthusiastically. The deluxe case and candy are a great bonus. There's only 1,962 of these in the world, so if you're tempted by this curvy creature, claim it for yourself before the other 1,961 are all gone.
