- Guitarchives
Epiphone LP Standard, cherry sunburst, made in Korea 1995. Epiphone's Korean-made guitars enjoy a solid reputation for good reason. This looks cool: gaudy finish, cute little details in the grain, sturdy construction, fat sound. The neck is pretty chunky, it's more of a fat 50s than a slim 60s shape, and sits nicely in the hand. The pickups deliver a generous dark, fat tone, with plenty of low end oomph and a warm midrange. There's a lot to like here, and a new one costs a tonne these days, so hey... let's party like it's 1995?
