Epiphone Union Jack Sheraton, made in China 2014. Now, officially, this guitar is not a Noel Gallagher signature model. But, it is a very accurate reproduction of Noel's famous Union Jack Sheraton, one of the most recognisable guitars of the 1990s. It's got a pair of Gibson USA made Firebird-style mini humbuckers, CTS pots and the cool 60s style tailpiece, all nice little touches. The pickups deliver plenty of roundness and warmth, as you'd expect of an ES-style guitar, but with an enhanced snarl in the high mids and a sweet, chirpy top end you can't really get from a full size HB. We arranged a minor headstock repair on arrival, see the notes below, so it's priced accordingly. Now, let's finish this description off with a few of Noel Gallagher's best quotes, okay? That'll be way more fun than me just telling you it's good and you should buy it.
"We're not arrogant, we just believe we're the best band in the world."
"You don't have to be great to be successful. Look at Phil Collins."
"Solo artists are generally totally insane. Elton John? Slightly eccentric. George Michael? He's mad as custard."
"I'm not interested in making money. It's just that with my talent, I'm cursed with it."
"You can't really write a full album about your missus. She'll start getting the wrong idea and start thinking I like her."
Model: Epiphone Limited Edition Union Jack Sheraton
Made: China, 2014
Finish: union jack top, white back/sides/neck
Body: laminated maple, maple centre block, thinline depth
Neck: mahogany, rosewood board, 12" radius, 24.75" scale
Weight: 3.855kg
Mods: minor neck repair as detailed below, knobs replaced
Pickups: Gibson USA mini-humbucker x2
Case: deluxe Epiphone hard case, few knocks and marks but good condition
Cosmetic condition notes: minor finish wear. The headstock has some scuffs on the end. We arranged a repair on arrival to the headstock, as the fretboard was slightly separated from the neck and there was some finish damage. It's been professionally glued and stabilised, and the finish has been corrected in the general area, so you make out a faint blend line halfway up the back of the headstock and in the first inch or so of the back of the neck. There's a little bit of visual roughness on the bass side under the nut, but the front of the headstock is tip-top clean. The neck is clean and smooth in the hands, no major marks. The back has a little dimple on the top edge in the elbow area and another dimple the bottom edge. The sides have no major marks. The front has some minor rub wear in the elbow area and some minor play wear on the horns. Overall: very good condition (8/10).
Playing condition notes: Neck is straight, intonation is good, action is low, truss rod works. All electronics tested and working properly. Frets have almost no wear, 9/10. Setup with fresh 11/49 Moonshiners strings.
