Epiphoen SG, made in China 2006, black. This is the basic version of the SG, with a bolt-on neck and simple hardware. In a fun twist, it's had a beefy EMG pickup installed, so the thing is sounding boisterous as a sherbert-frenzied seven year old at a pool party. I've played plenty of higher end SGs in my time, but I found this one remarkably fun: it's not fancy, but it really has a vibe about it. The neck is comfy, it's well balanced, and the tone is as raunchy and snarly as a hellhound on dexys. In the words of ACDC: "I'm whack on black!"
