(SOLD) Epiphone Zenith Bass Vintage Natural 2011
Epiphone Zenith, vintage natural, made in China 2011. The Zenith was a shortlived model, but it's a cool thing. It has a finger in a few pies: modern electric bass, acoustic bass, jazzbox, upright... there's a lot of heritage there. It's a chambered mahogany with a maple veneer, so it's not fully hollow, but still has the pretty F-holes and a pleasing rounded shape. The neck is a comfy rounded profile akin to a Precision Bass, made from a five ply maple/rosewood combo for extra rigidity and capped with a gorgeous midnight rosewood board. The pickups are by Shadow, with a magnetic sensor on the end of the fretboard and a more trad under saddle style, each with a bass/treble boost/cut control and a master volume and blend. You can dial some lovely mellow electric style sounds, or a rounded, slightly muted tones where you might otherwise have had to bring an upright. If you're covering multiple genres from jazz to folk to country over a month, this would surely be a handy tool for the belt. Finding one of these is the hard bit, so hey, you're welcome.
