Ernie Ball Musicman Luke II in black sparkle. This is the signature model for Steve Lukather, known for his legendary work with Toto, although is resume is extremely long and prestigious. It's a brilliant guitar! The neck is slim and extremely quick; the heel shape allows for very easy access to the upper frets and the oil and wax finish feels amazing. The HSS setup allows for a whole lot of tonal options, you can dial in all sorts of options and save yourself switching guitars. Despite the 25.5" scale, it feels compact and easy to get around on; it's also perfectly weighted. The quality of build on USA Musicman stuff has long been heralded as exceptional, and this really does feel flawless. The neck stamp is barely readable, it appears to say 'Aug 2005' but it's very faint so further investigation may yield a different date of birth. If you like your guitars understated and extremely shreddable, this will be a perfect addition to the collection.
