EB Musicman Stingray 4H, made in USA 2011, natural finish. The Stingray bass is a Leo Fender design that first launched in 1976; it really hasn't changed much at all since it's inception. The high mass bridge, ash body and big fat humbucker deliver that instantly recognisable tone: thick, punchy and tight with a whole heap of growl in the midrange. The 4-band EQ means you can dial in a tone that'll work in just about any situation; it's no wonder these basses find favour with the some of the worlds' busiest players. This particular example is surprisingly light... a welcome and unusual trait on an ash body bass! The body really moves with each note too, you can feel the vibrations pulsing through the instrument as you play. Musicman are famous for exceptional build quality; you can feel the care and attention that's gone into this when it's in your hands; the neck feels amazing. If you're only going to own one bass, this is an excellent candidate... it'll deliver!
