LTD TE-200, made in Indo 2012, gloss black. LTD have long provided punchy guitars for an affordable dime to fans of angry music for many moons now. The TE series are approximately Telecaster shaped, but a vintage-style T this is most certainly not. First up, it's got a 24 fret neck with a flat radius fingerboard and a slim profile, designed for speed and easy movement. My initial instinct was to strum some clean chords on this, but it really came to life with a generous dose of dirt. The bridge pickup has a punchy midrange, with heaps of 800-1kHz presence to ensure you cut through the mix. The neck pickup is pretty dark, perfect for doomy stuff. You can play clean on it, sure... but, don't. The maple board pops against the black-on-black finish, it's a tasty little highlight. There's heaps of angry riffs to be had for a working class dime.
