Fender 60th Anniversary Telecaster Limited Edition Natural 2006
Fender 60th Anniversary Telecaster, natural gloss, made in USA 2006. Leo Fender launched his world-shaking company in 1946. It wasn't until 1951 that the Telecaster took shape, but this model was released as a limited run of 1000 to celebrate the humble beginnings of the whole operation. It's a very nice Tele indeed. It feels very good: the soft V neck is beautifully smooth in the hand and carved from some very tight and consistently grained maple, the ash body is visually stunning as well as being lightweight and the 50s-style hardware holds tune and transfers all that vibration convincingly. The pickups deliver the goods: the neck pickup is fat and fast on the low end superbly sparkly on top, while the bridge pickup delivers a blooming, breathy midrange with plenty of bark when you dig in and a dreamy delicacy under a light touch. The original silver case and all the docs are there, and this one has weathered the decades very gracefully and looks pretty close to new. This should be a safe bet from a value holding angle, as well as being a whole lot of fun to play. Nice one Leo!

Cosmetic condition notes: minor finish wear. The headstock has dimples on the end. The neck is clean and smooth in the hands, minor rub wear on the back only. The back has dimples in the elbow area, a scuff near the back edge near the rear strap pin and a sticker mark on the nek plate. The sides have dimples in the elbow area. The front has dimples near the jack, back edge and elbow area and some light scuffs on the guard and horns.
Overall: excellent condition (9/10)
Playing condition notes: action is low, neck is straight, intonation is good, truss rod works. All electronics tested and working properly. Wearing fresh 10/46 Moonshiners strings.
Fret life: 9/10, minor wear only
