Fender '69 Reissue Mustang, vintage white, made in Japan 1993/94. It's hard to look at this and not instantly fall for it's buttery charms. Mustangs from the Fujigen 'MIJ' era are far more scarce than the later Tokai-made 'CIJ' models; there was just the one model in the catalog in 1993/94 and there's just not that many around. This one has that mystical 'mojo' in the hands; it feels amazing. The skinny neck and short scale mean you're never working hard, it's an absolute breeze to get around. The simple pickup switching and sensible vibrato make it easy to pull out the swampy, spanky tone... Mustangs have a perfectly imperfect sound that's easy to love. The finish on this was once a crispy vintage white... with a lot of years, it's yellowed very heavily to cheddar-cheese yellow; it really looks so delicious. You'll play better when you're having fun, and this guitar is absolutely brings the giddy thrills.
Model: Fender Mustang, '69 Reissue (MG69-65)
Made: Japan, Fujigen plant, 1993/94 (serial N053092 MIJ)
Finish: vintage white (heavily yellowed), 3-ply red tort guard
Neck: maple with rosewood board, 24" scale, 7.25" radius
Pickups: Fender Japan MG Vintage single coils
Cosmetic condition notes: moderate finish wear. There's a couple of dings on the end of the headstock, chips on the top horn and neck-pocket, a dent on the bottom horn, some uneven fading on the back from a sticker and a black mark and some chips around the bottom edge. Chrome and plastics have significant discolouration but all parts work fine. The finish was originally white, so it's heavily yellowed with age. Overall: good condition (7/10).
Playing condition notes: Action is low, intonation is good, neck is straight, truss rod works. All electrics tested and working properly. Frets have some normal wear, nothing nasty; 7/10 for life left. Certified cool guitar!
