Fender P-bass, '70 reissue, crafted in Japan 1999-02, outrageous Capri Orange finish. This is surely one of the rudest and rarest finishes Fender offer... it's both obnoxious and excellent. The guard on this has been switched from white to tort, adding to the autumnal 70s vibe. This model usually only comes in white, so this non-catalog orange is very unusual. The feel and tone happily back up the loud claims of the finish: the slightly slimmer 70s neck features some sweet grain in both the maple and rosewood and feels smooth and sleek, and the tone is monstrous. The factory-fitted Fender USA pickups deliver a great mix of definition, roundness and thump; it's very satisfying and instantly fills out that 'fatness' in the mix. The bridge has also been upgraded to the vintage-correct spiral saddle type, which is nice. This is a superb P, it's sure to attract plenty of attention on stage, distracting the audience from your face... is that a positive or negative for you?
