Fender '73 Competition Mustang MG73-CO Old Candy Apple Red 2008

Fender '73 Mustang, old candy apple red with spicy comp stripe, crafted in Japan 2007-10. Don't listen to me, just look at the pictures... there you go, you want it now, yes? Mustangs have been cool for five decades so far, and with a muscle car racing stripe, this one definitely continues the traditional swimmingly. The classic Mustang combo of a lightweight body, slim neck, short scale and cute vibrato make this an easy and fun player; it's hard to put down. The tone on the neck pickup is classic Mustang thick, stanky spank, but the bridge pickup has been switched for a cool Duncan Little '59, adding some crunch and heft to the equation. The two pickups still balance pretty nicely although the 'out of phase' switch position isn't as lo-fi as with two single coils. I'm not expecting this to hang around, so nab it quickly if you're in the mood.

Model: Fender Mustang, '73 Reissue (MG73-CO)

Cosmetic condition notes: minor finish wear. Headstock has some minor marks on the end and some chips on the bottom edge. The neck is pretty clean and smooth in the hands, no major marks. The back has some surface scratches and light scuffs around the outside, nothing nasty. The sides have some dimples on both horns and the shoulder as well as some scuffs and a chip around from the jack. The front is pretty clean, just a couple of little marks on the shoulder and near the jack and some play scratches on and around the guard. Overall: very good condition (8/10).

Playing condition notes: Action is low, intonation is good, neck is straight, truss rod works. All electrics tested and working properly. Frets have some normal wear but look pretty good, 7/10 for life left. Wearing fresh 11/49s.
