Fender '73 Mustang, fiesta red with comp stripe, made in Japan 2012. The first thing that struck me about this one when I picked it up is the weight: Mustangs are generally light, but this one is especially so. That's awesome frankly, as it lends the guitar an extra serve of natural resonance and a generous dollop of attack and low end to the tone. It's super punchy plugged in: sizzling highs and a honky midrange with an immediate, percussive low end. It's perfect with a bit of overdrive and a slapback delay. The neck is slim and quick and features some outrageous birdseye grain in the maple; it's luxurious for both hands and eyes. The finish also rules, right? Fiesta red is a little closer to a ketchup orange than the more common candy apple, it certainly has a Miami Vice kinda charm to it. Comprehensively cool.

The back has a couple of dimples in the middle of the body as well as widespread light scuffs, no major marks. The sides have a couple of decent chips on the bottom horn and around from the jack, as well as minor scuffs around the elbow area. The front has a couple of dimples behind the tailpiece and near the knobs as well as light scuffs on the back edge, elbow area and top horn. Overall: good condition (7/10).

Playing condition notes: Action is low, intonation is good, neck is straight, truss rod works. All electrics tested and working properly. Frets have some normal wear but look pretty good, 7/10 for life left. Wearing fresh 11/49 Moonshiners strings.
