Fender American Standard Strat, charcoal frost, made in USA 2011. The American Standard might just be Fender's longest running model, so there's plenty of different takes on the classic that came out over the years. I like this one, it's a simple and effective Strat. It feels good: a moderate modern C neck, finished in satin on the back and gloss on the board and headstock, a smooth and reliable two-point vibrato bridge, a well balanced resonant body... nothing surprising, but nothing disappointing. Later versions copped those 'controversial' Noiseless pickups, but this has a tasty set of Custom Shop Fat Fifties single coils, which are great. It's thick and tuneful through the low end, with a glistening top end outlining every note in sweet clarity. The bridge pickup has a nice balance of girth and piquancy, it's not harsh. It comes with one of those TSA-approved beefyboi cases and looks crispy cool in charcoal. Yeck heah.

Cosmetic condition notes: minor finish wear. The headstock has some dimples on the end and top edge. The neck is clean and smooth in the hands, minor dimples on the back only. The back has widespread light scuffs around the whole body, as well as some dimples along the back edge from the elbow area to the bottom corner. The sides have minor scuffs on both horns and the elbow area and some dimples near the jack. The front has some dimples near the jack, behind the bridge and in the elbow area as well as some scuffs from play on the guard and horns. Overall: very good condition (7.5/10)
Playing condition notes: Action is low, neck is straight, intonation is good, truss rod works. All electronics tested and working properly. The frets have some normal wear but there's plenty of height left and no major buzz issues, 7/10 for life left. Wearing fresh 10/46 Moonshiners strings.
