(SOLD) Fender American Standard Telecaster Sunburst 1997
Fender American Standard Tele, sunburst, made in USA 1997. This middle-era Am Standard is a good example of why this model won so many hearts: it just works really well. The alder body is moderate in weight, and delivers a beautiful balanced tone with a thick and eloquent midrange, combining nicely with the traditional single coils that sing truly and have a little more sparkle and life than the later noiseless models. The chunky block-style saddle bridge adds a bit of sustain and brightness; they're an instantly recognisable and loveable 90s hallmark on a Tele. The neck is perfectly stable and straight, it feels nicely played in but still ready for another few thousand hours of play; it's slim, comfortable and instantly familiar. The classic burst-finish shows off some subtle grain and lends a classic look to the matching classic tone. If you're more about amazing tone and captivating performance than gimmicks and antics, this will suit you perfectly.
