Fender AVRI '62 Strat, sunburst, made in Corona USA 2008. These American Vintage Reissue guitars are absolute gems. The series launched in 1982 enjoyed critical and public acclaim for several decades before being replaced by the not-quite-the-same American Originals a couple of years back. You get all the vintage appointments: tasty vintage alnico pickups, nitro finish, 7.25 radius, cloth wire... all just like the originals. This one has had some Custom Shop pickups and locking tuners installed; both handy additions. The neck is awesome: slim vintage C profile, streaky red brown premium rosewood slab board, finish worn to satin and super smooth... what a time to be alive. The finish has a lot of wear; the guitar has certainly been played a lot, but I can't say for sure if it's had some 'relic' treatment or just a lot of hours on the clock. Plugged in, it's quite a time: huge thick Strat-spank in the attack, thick and rich mids, nice balanced treble that'll chime nicely where required without taking your head off. The original case is luxe too, gotta love the G&G stuff. Very, very good indeed.

Model: Fender American Vintage '62 Stratocaster
Made: Corona USA, neck date 29 Sep 20008 (serial V156072)
Finish: 3-tone sunburst (2TS), 3-ply cream guard
Body: alder
Neck: maple with rosewood slab board, 25.5" scale, 7.25" radius
Weight: 3.465kg
Mods: 5-way switch installed, string tree changed, locking tuners installed, pickups and capacitor replaced
Pickups: Fender Custom Shop 64 Strat single coil x3
Case: original Fender G&G tweed hard case, great quality, very good condition

Cosmetic condition notes: mild finish wear. Headstock has some minor marks on the end and bottom edge, a scuff on the back and some extra holes in the front from a since removed second string tree. The neck is clean and smooth in the hands, there's some wear on edge of the board and rub wear and dimples on the back from play. Its possible the neck was lightly sanded at some point, hard to say. The back has widespread light scuffs as well as a chip on the top horn and a few dimples around around the cavity. Back cover removed. The sides have a few things to note: nicks on the edge of the top horn, chips in the 'waist' area, chips and light wear in the elbow area, two big bare patches and a few scuffs on the back edge around the strap pin, dimples along the bottom side from the jack area down to bottom horn and a little chip on the bottom side of the neck pocket. The front has a big bare patch on the elbow area, as well as widespread minor surface scuffs around the body. Overall: good condition (7/10).

Playing condition notes: Action is low, neck is straight, intonation is good, truss rod works. All electrics tested and working properly. Frets have very some normal wear but are in reasonable shape, 7/10 for fret life left. Wearing fresh 10/46 strings.
