Fender Classic Series 50s P, honey blonde, made in Mexico 2012. The Classic Series was Fender's tastiest and priciest options made in Mexico in their day, and since being discontinued a couple of years back the used price on them has been steadily creeping up. Fair enough too: this is a well-executed vintage style P with plenty of mojo. The neck is moderately chunky and carved from a tightly grained, pretty piece of maple, it feels and looks classy. The body is a nice piece of ash, it's lightweight and resonant and shows off some nice grain under the blonde finish. Plugged in, this offers a juicy, growly take on the classic P-punch. You can't go too wrong here, this is a really solid simple P that'll deliver goods night after night.
