Fender Japan '52 Telecaster, crafted in Japan 2007-10, vintage natural finish. This is a brilliant take on the classic '52 T with a lot of nice appointments; it'll compete very favourably with almost anything made in the USA. Being a deluxe model, you get the good stuff: lightweight USA ash body, brass saddles and a pair of USA Texas Special pickups. That all adds up brilliantly in the hands; there's a stack of clarity and punch on hand, as well as a singing, open midrange and a crystal clear treble... it'll push a valve amp to a tasty breakup in all the right ways. The neck has some nice flame through the maple, it's a very tidy piece. The body is loud unplugged, you can feel all the notes ringing around as you play. This is a sweet Tele, and it's bonus to score one in such tidy shape; you really can't go wrong here.

Cosmetic condition notes: minor finish wear. There's a couple of tiny marks on the end of the headstock. The neck is pretty clean. The back looks great, just the occasional super minor dimple if you catch it in exactly the right light up very close. The sides look pretty good, just a little dimple on the top side in the 'waist' area. The front is almost pristine, just a couple of dimples near the switch and some very light play wear on the guard and top horn. The guard is lifting slightly (approx 1mm), as is common on 1-ply guards. Overall: excellent condition (9/10)
Playing condition notes: Action is low, neck is straight, intonation is good, truss rod works. All electronics tested and working properly. The frets are in excellent shape with very little wear, 9/10 for life left. Wearing fresh 10/46s.
