Fender Japan '52 Telecaster TL52-85TX Vintage Natural 2005
Fender '52 Tele, vintage natural, crafted in Japan 2005-6. This here was the high-end Japanese version of the unassailable 1952 Telecaster in it's day. You get some tasty appointments: proper ash body, brass saddles, 50s-correct spaghetti decal and a pair of USA-made Texas Special pickups. That adds up well plugged in: heaps of 'Tele twang', but with a certain hotness to the attack and midrange that means this will really get your amp moving. There's a complexity and warmth to the mids and treble here that will surely scare some far pricier USA models; this really does sound sweet. The neck is a comfy, rounded C-style profile; it's easy to get along with and a little less divisive than the soft-V these models often sport. The two piece ash body features some really tasty grain, all on display via the gorgeous amber tinted natural gloss finish... classy. This came in with no guard, so we sourced a great anodised black one from a buddy in Adelaide; it's a really nice finishing touch. Just.... classy.
