Fender '57 P Bass, vintage white, made in Japan 1986-7. Oh man, this is a good one. You're pretty safe with any of the pre-1990 Fujigen made Fender instruments, owing to their exceptional build quality and wood selection. This one has the feeling of many 'miles on the clock'; there's a smattering of finish wear and lacquer yellowing; but on a white finish, it really adds a whole extra level of charm. The lightweight body is super sprightly and resonant; it adds a whole lot of thump and roundness to the natural snap and growl of the maple board. This has an immediate and punchy attack that allows for a huge range of dynamic response; it's very satisfying to hear and has that classic P-charm in spades. Basically, this is equal parts swagger and suave... perfect.

The neck is pretty tidy, just a few dings on the back and bottom edge; nothing that interferes with play. The back has a few marks; some checking and scratches on the top horn, some chips and marks dings along the back edge, a sticker fade mark and a few little buckle rash scratches and dings around the place. There's little scuffs and dings the whole way around the sides as well as a chip on the bottom near the knobs and some more concentrated scuffs between the strap pin and the shoulder. The front is pretty good, some pay wear and dents on the top horn, a sticker fade mark and some scratches on the shoulder area and some little dimples around the place. Overall: good condition (7/10).
Playing condition notes: Action is low, neck is straight, intonation is good, truss rod works. All electrics tested and working properly. Frets have some normal wear but are looking pretty good, 7/10 for life left. Set up with fresh 45/105s.
