Fender '57 Strat, made in Japan 1990, candy apple red. Candy apple always looks delicious on a Strat; it was a great idea six decades ago, and it's a great idea now. This is all classic class! These early-era Fujigen Strats are the subject of a growing legend owing to their exceptional build quality and amazing wood selection lending them a 'mojo' that's difficult to articulate but instantly easy to feel. The neck on this is lovely: it's yellowed to a sweet golden hue, there's some very pretty grain on show and it has the sweet worn-in feel that comes from a few decades of play. The classic Strat-spank is strong with this one; it's got a tasty thick, snappy attack with a tight bottom end and a healthy dose of sizzle on the top end. This is a really lovely Strat, it's sure to keep things saucy for several decades to come.

Cosmetic condition notes: mild finish wear. Headstock has some minor dings and scuffs on the end and bottom edge. The neck has a handful of minor scratches and dings, nothing nasty and feels very smooth. There's a little wear around the edge of the board, mostly between the 7th-12th frets. The back has some finish checking near the pocket and widely spread light smattering of dents and scratches; nothing nasty. The sides are similar: lots of little marks around the whole guitar but nothing major, save for a redded-out chip just down from the second tone knob. The front is cleaner, but there's still some marks on the top horn, in the shoulder area, behind the bridge and near the knobs as well as some play wear and yellowing. Overall: good condition (7/10).
Playing condition notes: Neck is straight, action is low, intonation is good, truss rod works. All electronics tested and working properly. Frets have some normal wear, there's plenty of height in them and no major buzz issues; 7/10 for life left. Setup with fresh 10/46 strings.
