Fender '57 Strat, ocean turquoise, crafted in Japan 2002-4. This is gorgeous, quite frankly. The finish has yellowed over the years, unevenly owing to some since-removed stickers, and it just oozes coolness. The deep nautical green pops perfectly against the golden syrup maple board... delightful. Tone-wise; this brings the goods. The Texas Special pickups and alder body were saved for naught but the fanciest models of Strat in this era; so this is well appointed. It adds up to a sublime aural experience: there's a depth, warmth and thickness to the tone to balance the natural Strat sparkle and brightness... this will likely give most USA Strats a reason to take a good hard look at themselves. The neck has been refinished in satin, offering a slick playing surface and ease of movement. This one has a colourful past, but surely, it's best days lie ahead of it.

Cosmetic condition notes: mild finish wear. Headstock is pretty clean. The back of the neck has been refinished in satin; it's in clean shape, just a very minor dent on the bottom edge near the 7th fret; the board looks good. The back looks pretty tidy, just some uneven fading from stickers since removed and some dimples and checking in the body care. The sides are pretty clean, just some dents and scratches on the bottom side near the knobs and in the shoulder area. The front has a bunch of uneven fade marks from stickers and some dimples near the jack, on the top horn behind the bridge. Overall: very good condition (8/10).
Playing condition notes: Neck is straight, action is low, intonation is good, truss rod works. All electronics tested and working properly. Frets have some light wear, they're looking good overall, 8/10 for life left. Setup with fresh 10/46 strings.
