Fender '62 Jazz, vintage white, made in Japan 1993-4. A white Jazz always looks good, and with the best part of three decades on the clock to add some butter to the hue and a few marks around the edges... oh boy, what a looker. The finish is closer to yellow these days, and paired with the vintage red tort guard and the streaky dark rosewood guard, it has all sorts of swagger. The tone is all there too: lightning-fast attack, heaps of girth through the low end, grindy mids with plenty of chime and a nice little zesty top and shimmer to make sure you cut through the mix. The neck is a great piece of maple, straight and stable, tightly grained, slim and quick... it's very satisfying. The body is pretty light and nice and resonant; the bass feels very lively and responsive in the hands. This is a superb bass, perfect for a busy player.
