Fender Japan ‘62 Jazz Bass JB62-73 Trans Blue 1998
Fender '62 Jazz, trans blue, crafted in Japan 1997-00. Here's an unusual one! This is a '62 reissue model, so you get the perfect slim neck with a tasty rosewood board, gold decal and the classic vintage style pickups as per usual. Here's what's different: an ash body, a transparent finish to show off the grain and no guard.... classy, in an understated way, right? The tone is a bit snappier and growlier than a regular alder body J; it's got a heap of presence and warmth to it stuck together by a huge fat low end... dang, it sounds delicious. The body is a lightweight and sprightly bit of ash too, so you don't even have to wrestle a hefty thing for the extra tone you get. All up: classic with a twist, like a G&T with a wedge of grapefruit.
