(SOLD) Fender Japan '62 Jazz Bass JB62-75US Black 1998
Fender '62 Jazz, black, crafted in Japan 1997-00. This looks clean and sounds mean. It was the high end version of the classic '62 Jazz in it's day, so it's got an alder body and the vintage correct spiral bridge. The tuners and pickups have been upgraded, so it's packing a little more punch than a standard issue JB. The pickups are overwound, so there's plenty of weight and punch through the low end and a barky, immediate midrange. It's pretty sensitive to a light touch, but really comes back at you enthusiastically if you dig in hard. The neck is blessed with some gorgeous tight grained maple, so it's very pretty on the back, as well as some dark open pore rosewood for the board... it's a delicious combo and feels every bit as good as it looks. This one will keep a busy player very happy indeed.
