Fender Japan '62 Jazz Bass JB62-80 Fretless Sunburst 1993
Fender '62 Jazz, made in Japan 1993/4, sunburst, modded to fretless. This sleek little friend has a lot to offer. We got out ninja to remove the frets; he's done a very tidy job and has filled the slots with a contrasting maple veneer. The work really is exceptional, you'd assume it left the factory fretless by looking at it. The warm, rounded attack of the fretless rosewood board complements the tight, bright tone of the USA pickups beautifully; this has a great mix of growl and thump. The sunburst finish has plenty of knocks and marks, but it looks great all the same. The neck has a nicely played-in feel, it really is a tasty thing indeed. If you've been feeling the fretless itch for a while, this will surely provide the most satisfying of scratches.
