Fender '62 Jazz, black, made in Japan 2014. There's never been a time, in the 60 or so years since it's inception, that a black Jazz Bass wasn't cool. This is the kind of bass that works so brilliantly in any number of different playing situations and never stops looking understated, professional and stylish. This one has the 60s-correct spiral bridge, a nice light alder body and a pair of Fender USA pickups; all nice appointments that add a touch of class to the classic curves. The pickups offer plenty of clarity, definition and precision; balancing well against the classic-J growl and thump. The slim neck features some distinct flame maple, it's a very pretty piece of wood that'd be at home on a far pricier instrument... plus, it feels great in the hands. This is a crowd-pleaser; it just works!
