Fender '62 Jazz, trans green, made in Japan 1993/4. In the mid-90s Fender Japan had a series called 'Custom Edition'; it featured a couple of very unusual shapes as well as some 'whoa' takes on the classics... this is one of those. The American basswood body was selected for it's consistently streaky grain, which works perfectly under the gaudy trans green finish. The green is vibrant and eye-catching; it's like a slightly radioactive version of British Racing Green. Paired with a dark chocolate rosewood board and some remarkably lightly aged gold hardware, this is surely a very saucy machine indeed. The tone is all-J: heaps of cut and definition, grunty midrange growl and a thick punch that's sure to get folks moving. The slim neck profile works perfectly; you never feel like you're wrestling to get the notes and it's a breeze to move up and down the fretboard. If you love the classic JB tone and feel but can't see yourself with the normal black/white/sunburst options, this will surely tickle your strange fancies!
