Fender Japan '62 Reissue Telecaster TL62-65US Inca Silver 1997-00
Fender '62 Tele, crafted in Japan 1997-00, Inca silver. The Telecaster hasn't changed that much over the decades; this model is a throwback to the first year the blessed Tele was bestowed a rosewood fretboard and an alder body. Those details are intact, alongside the spiral saddle bridge, 7.25" radius gloss finish neck and vintage-voiced California made pickups... it's all very vintage around here. The tonal results are great: heaps of classic 'twang' balanced by an even midrange and an inviting low end; so tasty. These slim 60s style necks are always instantly familiar; this one feels like an old friend immediately. This model usually pops up in vintage white only, this is a non-catalog finish and a rare one at that. The original silver has yellowed to a subtle is-it-silver-is-it-gold look; alongside the mint guard it appears to have an Instagram filter pre-applied in real life. It's classy, like your nana's best jewellery.
