Fender '62 Tele, bound black, made in Japan 1985/6. This is a classy Tele, that's for sure. Hailing from the famed 'A serial' period of 1985-6, this little stunner is very collectable and very satisfying. The neck features a lovely piece of maple with some distinctive grain, perfectly on show beneath the golden-syrup aged lacquer. The rosewood slab board is dark and tightly grained with some nice dark red streaks running along it, it's a lovely piece; something you don't see often on new guitars very often. The neck feels great in the hands, the slim 62 profile is instantly friendly and a breeze to move around on. The tone is classic Tele: heaps of snap and sparkle, snarly midrange and tight bass with a crispy clear treble... the bridge pickup is especially satisfying into a lightly overdriven amp. This is in pretty great shape, with just a few telltale signs of it's three decades on show like some subtle checking. These 1980s Fujigen Fenders are (arguably... sigh) the best built instruments Fender produced since the CBS takeover in the mid 60s, and word is getting out pretty quickly. This one is very easy to love!
