Fender Japan '62 Stratocaster ST62-53 Burgundy Mist Metallic 1996
Fender '62 Strat, burgundy mist, crafted in Japan circa 1996. It's a great finish, isn't it? Burgundy mist metallic was an original 60s custom colour, taken straight from the automotive industry of the day. This example has faded and yellowed quite a bit, so it's more of a peachy, guava pink than a lavende-ish hue. It's also seen some stuff, with a few knocks and marks etc, but the neck is in super clean shape, so that's nice. The neck is very comfy too: these 90s era ST62 models have this great moderately slim vintage C that always wins many fans in the shop. The pickups are simple but effective: snappy, punchy attack with a chiming top end, smooth lows and plenty of dynamics and definition. Very slick indeed.
