Fender '62 Strat, ocean turquoise, crafted in Japan 2004-5. We haven't had an ocean turquoise through the store for a few months, I almost forgot how delightful they look. It was a non-catalog finish in the mid 00s, so they come up now and again as limited runs, and dang... paired with the streaky rosewood board and contrasting white plastics, it looks a darn treat. The neck is a comfy rounded C shape, slim but not drastically so, and feels very agreeable in the hands indeed. The neck pickup is full and warm, with a generous percussive bass and a gooey understated midrange. The middle and bridge pickups deliver plenty of spank and shimmer, balanced by a creamy body with a pleasing complexity. This is a thoroughly enjoyable Strat, it'll fill the gap in your sonic imagination just right.

Cosmetic condition notes: minor finish wear. The headstock is pretty clean, no maor marks. The neck is clean and smooth in the hands, minor dimples on the back only. The back has some dents along the back edge and some light scuffs on the bottom horn and above the cavity. One corner of the back cavity cover is broken. The sides have some dimples in the elbow area and near the jack. The front has dimples along the back edge and in the elbow area, as well as some notable play scuffs on the top horn and some standard play wear on and around the guard. Overall: very good condition (7.5/10).

Playing condition notes: Neck is straight, action is low, intonation is good, truss rod works. All electronics tested and working properly. The frets have some minor wear but look good, 8/10 for fret life left. Setup with fresh 10/46 Mooonshiners strings.

This listing is an archived entry. We love to look back and remember fondly what characters we've had through the store, so we keep them around for reference.
