Fender Japan '62 Stratocaster ST62-66DMC Vintage White 2008
Fender '62 Strat, vintage white, made in Japan 2007-10. It's hard to deny the charms of a creamy white Strat with a rosewood board... if it was good enough for Saint Jimi, it's good enough for anyone. This example was made as part of Fender Japan's 'Dimarzio Collection': a collaboration that landed a bunch of Fender models snazzy sets of single coils by Dimarzio from factory. The pickups are a bit like a Texas Special, but with a more balanced midrange and a lower noise floor. They're a ceramic bar magnet under the hood: it's a simple design, but heck, they really sound fantastic. It's a fat, strong take on the classic Strat spank, but with plenty of detail and articulation on tap to lend your lines life and refinement. In a pretty handy bonus, this guitar has been recently re-fretted by our local pro luthier, so it's got vintage medium sized stainless steel frets. It's an expensive repair, but it means the frets will basically never wear out again. The neck is a comfy and quick vintage C shape, which paired with the lightweight body and sturdy hardware make for a comfy and assured playing feel. You could pretty easily spend double this cash on a new Strat and get less guitar. This rules.
