Fender Precision, vintage white, made in Japan 1993. I'm a big fan of these 1970 style P models, they feel terrific and look so good. This example dates to 1993, so it's a few years earlier than most of the PB70 examples we get, which lends it a couple of points of interest. Firstly, it was made at the iconic Fujigen Gakki factory, the first facility to ever produce Fender instruments outside USA and famed for outstanding build quality. Secondly, the body is made of lightweight ash, whereas the later examples are made from alder. That translates to a little extra bite and grit in the tone, which lends this a snappy top end to balance out it's voluptuous rounded bass response... the thing sounds great. The neck has a 40mm nut, so halfway between a vintage Jazz and a vintage P, which is very intuitive and makes for a comfy feel. The white finish has yellowed significantly and copped a few knocks, but you know what? I reckon that only adds to the charm. Sure to P-lease.
