Fender Japan '71 Stratocaster ST71-85TX Natural 2004
Fender '71 Strat, natural finish, crafted in Japan 2004-5. This is very classy! These '71 models differ a little from the more common '72 reissue models: you get a chunkier 'U' shape neck, deluxe Schaller F-key tuners and a legit ash body. This one is also blessed with a set of USA Texas Special pickups. The combo of an ash body, chunky maple neck and the hot single coils adds up to a very spanky, bright and growly tone; perfect for making sure your slick licks slice through the mix. The body is slightly on the heavier side for a Strat, but that pays dividends in the added presence in the midrange and a punchier attack. The natural finish is in great shape and lets the attractive grain of the ash show through; combined with the maple board and big headstock, this has a certain nude elegance. This is certainly a tasty offering, serve it up with a side of overdrive and enjoy the honey.
