Fender Japan '72 Reissue Telecaster Custom TC72-70 Black 1999-02
Fender '72 Tele Custom, crafted in Japan 1999-02, black on black. The Tele Custom is one of those models that has a certain instant swagger; it's effortlessly cool. This one sports an ash body and the classic maple board, so you get stacks of midrange growl and presence. The tone is great; the thickness and warmth of the neck humbucker perfectly balances the classic brightness and chime of the classic-Tele bridge pickup. Into a lightly overdriven amp, it's a perfect blend of cream and chilli. The 70s style slim neck is easy to get along with, it feels forgiving and comfortable and is instantly familiar. This is one of those guitars equally at home playing sweaty punk shows or black tie corporate showcases... it has that evergreen coolness.

Cosmetic condition notes: minor finish wear. There's a couple of little nicks on the end and edges of the headstock. Neck is pretty clean, it feels nicely 'played in'. The nack has a few 'buckle rash' scratches, nothing nasty; they're most notable on the bottom and back edge. The sides have a couple of minor chips: around from the knobs, near the jack and up from the rear strap pin. The front has minor marks only, just a couple of scuffs and a light dent above the bridge and some play wear on the guard. Overall: good condition (7.5/10).
Playing condition notes: Action is low, neck is straight, intonation is good, truss rod works. All electronics tested and working properly. The frets are in good shape with plenty of height, 7/10 for life left. Wearing fresh 10/46s, tidy!
